Of course we spend considerable time in Florida, though we have never circumnavigated the entire coastline of the state. That’s our goal for this trip exploring Florida’s Atlantic Coast, The Keys, The Everglades, and then the Gulf Coast heading North…
Florida…
Today we cross the Georgia/Florida State Border on our way to St. Augustine and Anastasia State Park. On our way South we stop in at our mailing service center in Green Cove Springs, FL. We have been using (SBI) St Brendan’s Isle for our mail service for years though haven’t ever actually been there. SBI has been one of the best decisions we have made in preparation to becoming full-time Rvers. They have catered to the transit RV and Sailing communities for years and provide outstanding customer service and support. I highly recommend their service or just peruse their website for a wealth of information. They are experts in the mailing service business! FYI… their actual location is just in an office park so not much to tour there though nevertheless they get the job done.
SBI… Where our mail is received!
Continuing on from SBI it’s an easy drive and we get situated at Anastasia State Park mid afternoon. The campground is easy to maneuver through and we are on site 53 (ADA). Not sure how we got an ADA site but happy about it as it is paved and the other sites are dirt! Plus we’re close to the bath house with clean facilities and hot water with good pressure.
Anastasia State Park…
The bath houses are old but they are clean. We take the bikes down and take a campground ride/tour to check things out. There is a good area to launch kayaks (we don’t have) or a place to rent canoes/kayaks. We make it over to the beach and walk a little on the sand. We can see the lighthouse so we consider biking to it while we are here over the next few days. Settling in for the night by our Propane Firebowl we each comment how dark and quiet the campground is. We always prefer camping in the woods like this. Also, we have good cell reception to reach out to friends and family while here.

10/19:
We plan on going in to St. Augustine to check out the historic area. We make arrangements for a 2:00PM historic walking tour and then park in the garage at the Welcome Center ($15.00 to park for 24 hours). We walk a bit and then explore the Castillo de San Marcus National Monument Fort that is on the waterfront there. Fortunately we get in for free with our NPS Senior Pass. The area is beautiful (a little honky tonk but still nice). We meet up with our tour guide (Spyglass Tours) and he does a great 2 hour walking tour. Afterwards we continue to walk more of the area including around Flagler College and then a quick stop for a tour at St. Augustine Distillery. Mike enjoys that; Joanne says it’s “OK”. From there we head to A1A Tavern for dinner. It is a great place with the upstairs outside porch, overlooking the water. It’s a beautiful evening and a wonderful way to end the day 🙂

10/20:
We have a slow beginning to the day; Joanne takes a morning walk while Mike loads pictures. We decide it will be a good day to check out Fort Matanzas. You need to take a ferry over to the fort (the visitor center is on Anastasia Island about 20 minute drive from the campground) and you have to get tickets for the ferry ahead of time. Unknown to us is with Covid they only allow 12 people per ferry (usually 34). When we arrive at 12:15 the ranger says he only has tickets for the 3:30 ferry left for today. We do get the tickets and then go off to explore a bit more with the plan to return for the ferry.
Fort Matanzas National Monument…
We decide to drive a bit down A1A toward Flagler Beach and Daytona. A gorgeous drive.
Daytona Beach…
Mike remembers a new housing development called Lattitudes Margaritaville that he has wanted to check out so we head there and tour some models. Because you have to take a shuttle to the models we end up there a bit longer than anticipated and miss the ferry time, which is fine because we have seen plenty of forts over the past few weeks. We do feel bad that we took the tickets which means two other people may have missed out. We had a great day and come home to make some burgers on the grill.
10/21:
Today we had planned a slow day. We did go to CVS and print some baby photo’s to send out along with Halloween cards to the Mom’s, Sean, and Mackenzie. After mailing we stopped at an Ace Hardware to get a bolt to fix Woody’s support arm and also saw a flag holder for Joanne’s garden flags. We have been looking for this for awhile since she always tries to put the flag out though many campsites the ground is too hard for the bracket to penetrate. The new flag holder makes Joanne very happy.
Arriving back to the campsite we went for a very nice bicycle ride over to the lighthouse (but at $15.00 pp we decided not to go up). On the way back to the campground we parked the bikes and did the Marsh Trail. It’s a quiet peaceful trail along the “bay”area. We watched the birds and other wild life then biked back to our site. We really like this
campground and our site. It is quiet and peaceful and dark at night! We wish we had a few more days as we never did get to the beach to just sit and relax🤷♀️

10/22: New Smyrna Beach
Departing St. Augustine we decided to drive the scenic route of A1A most of the way to New Smyrna Beach as it is along the Atlantic Ocean most of the way. The GPS wanted us to take 95 but we like less crowded roads and more scenic drives! The drive was awesome! And it didn’t take much longer! We landed at New Smyrna Beach RV Park around 1:30. We had a pull through site but with trees it took a little figuring out how we would be able to get both slides out and also the awning. But once we got set-up all was good. This campground is also quiet, has a heated pool, laundry, and is only 3 miles to the beach. We had planned to just lay low and stay at the campground for the two days we are here but in meeting with our neighbors across the street (also in a Baystar) they highly recommended taking an excursion to New Smyrna Beach. After dinner they join us for a propane fire and we tour each other’s rigs and compare notes…
10/23/2021:
We head to the New Smyrna Beach…The beach is very, very nice. You can drive on it, ride your bike, great for walking and the waves are so small it would be perfect for a young child! Our neighbors tell us where to park for free (find the Islander Hotel and can park in the alleyways on either side). We find the parking (easy) and had decided we would just take a nice long walk on the beach. It is very lovely and we highly recommend it! We did walk off the beach at Flagler Ave. to see some shops. Lots of restaurants with outside seating. Great for drinks and a snack though we didn’t partake this time. As we drive home we comment to each other we would defintely come back here! But tomorrow we are off the Melbourne and visiting the Kennedy Space Center!
New Smyrna Beach…
Loved our beach walk in New Smyrna…
10:24:
Today we arrive at Melbourne Beach and to Long Point County Park Campground. We are on site 72. This is a perfect CG and site! We are so excited! We pull in bc our site is right on the bay so when we pull in we have a perfect view of the bay. There is a little beach area and would be perfect for launching kayaks (if we had some!). There are campers on either side of us but both are leaving in the morning so we are hoping because it will be Monday that we will have no neighbors for most of our stay. We get set up as we are here for 4 days and then (as usual) pour some wine and relax looking out over the bay :-). Joanne does a little research on the Kennedy Space Center (our plan for tomorrow) to figure out logistics. We order our tickets on line which is recommended and read the tips. Joanne is thinking it will be pretty quiet as it is later in Oct. and a Monday.

10/25:2021:
Today we get up early to head for the space center. It opens at 9:00 and we arrive shortly after that. The parking lots are fairly empty so we are thinking this is a good sign! As soon as we get our tickets from Will Call Mike uses his phone to reserve a spot for the bus to the Apollo Rocket Tour. We catch the 10:00 bus and then spend about 2 hours there. It is amazing! There are a few movies and we tour the various sections of the rocket. Towards the end of our time on that “excursion” someone comes out to give a free 15 minute tour. He is awesome! We thoroughly enjoy this part of the space center. On the way over and back we pass the “hanger” (VAB or vehicle assembly building) for the next rocket going up. Was hard to get a good view but we did catch a glimpse. After that we headed back to the main campus and toured the Atlantis, and the Heroes and Legends exhibits. Both were OK. We ate lunch at one of the eateries and again- it was OK.
At the end of the day while we were happy we went, we were both a bit disappointed in the Disney-like way things are set up. Total cost was $121.50 for tickets, $15.00 to park and $20.00 for lunch. We enjoyed the Houston Space Center better.

10/26:
Today we will take a slow day. We are tired from our day at the space center yesterday. After the morning we gather our beach things and head out to one of the parking areas nearby with a beach walkover. We had seen a park on the way in that looked like it was about 1-2 miles from the access road. The parking area is the one we had seen but it is a little farther than we thought. But plenty of parking and a nice boardwalk over the dunes onto the beach. There are a lot of fishermen here and some dead fish odor but we settle in for an afternoon of reading. After awhile most of the fishermen leave and we are pretty much alone. We had packed a few beers so enjoy a beverage before we leave, reflecting on how fortunate we are to be living this life! We arrive back to our campsite and realize we can now sit and enjoy beautiful views of the bay! And almost every day around 4:00 the dolphins begin swimming about 10 feet from shore in front of our site!!
A beautiful – private spot on the beach!
A best day again!
OK – this beach girl is HAPPY!
10/27:
Today is our last day here. We spend the morning looking out over the bay. An eagle has been perching early morning on a dead tree out by Scout Island. After our tea we put sneakers on and head out for a walk. We find the foot bridge over to Scout Island and wander around the island. The island is small and nothing there. A few paths so we just pretty much walk the perimeter then head back. After a snack we gather our things for an afternoon at the beach. The one we go to today is closer; take a left out the access road down two streets and at River Oaks Rd take the driveway on the right. When we pull in there is only one car parked there; great! It won’t be busy! The beach is beautiful but the no see-ums are horrendous. We sit for about 3 hrs reading and watching the water/waves then make the 1 mile trip back to the CG where we will set our beach chairs and beach umbrella down by the water on our site. It is beautiful here and we will be sad to leave.
10/29/2021: Today is our day to leave this beautiful camp spot. We get closed down, stand by the water to say good bye and know we will be back. The drive down A1A is nice but eventually have to get off. We find a Sam’s Club / Walmart in Vero Beach and it’s easy in / out for gas and pick up a few things. We arrive at Jonathan Dickinson State Park for a few days. We opted when making reservations to stay in the Pine Grove Campground section onsite (14) which is huge and private. We spend the afternoon looking at flights and places to stay in Boston for January and end up putting that off to the side for a bit. We begin taking a bike ride around the park but it is windy and Joanne is having a hard time with the sun so we head back to the RV to do inside stuff for a bit. It is too windy to put the awning out and the sun is very hot. Pretty much a “take a break day” for the 2 of us as Joanne isn’t feeling well.

10/30:
Joanne is feeling a little better but she slept in till 9:30. After a shower and breakfast and feeling a bit better we get the bikes out and head for the observation tower. Joanne is a little worried about the sun so it is full length leggings and a long sleeved shirt to protect the hives from getting burned. The observation tower is about a mile from the campsite; we take a short detour to get a pic of the entrance sign and then head to the tower. With the breeze and the hills Joanne is lagging a bit after Mike, but we get there. The tower is not much of a climb and although I thought the views would be better, it was still worth the ride :-). On the ride back to the site, Joanne had seen the entrance of what she thought was a bike trail to the Pine Grove CG (the one we are at). But, alas, it is for mountain bikers, not regular bikers. So we ride on the road until we get to the point that a bike trail for regular biking begins (just outside the campground. Once on that we ride on it past end up at a T in the road. At that point we see dark clouds moving in and with the windows open on the camper decide it is enough for the day and head back for some reading (or a nap for Joanne). Tomorrow is another day! We have some shrimp stir fry for dinner and play some Rummikub as the mosquitos are horrible outside.

10/31/2021:
We had met some campers from CT and after some talk they recommended we take a stroll through Stuart; a little town about 30 minutes north. Other friends of ours from the desert also said they like this little town so that’s what we do this afternoon! We find our way and park (free parking). The shops that line Main Street are OK. We find the Riverwalk and stroll next to the water. The Riverwalk is short; not like the one in Bradenton, but it’s fine. We thought maybe we would find a cute outside place to get lunch but didn’t like any of the places we passed. We headed back to camp. We did get a very nice fire in before going to bed (probably sat out till 9). As we prepare to leave Jonathan Dickinson I feel like we didn’t do this area justice. But with Joanne not feeling well we just didn’t feel like doing a lot. There are two preserves (Blowing Rock and Hobe Sound) plus the lighthouse and museum, and the beach isn’t far. So another time!
A walk thru Stuart, FL…
11/2:
We are heading to The Everglades! Mike and I had stopped here on our way home from Spring Break in Ft. Lauderdale in 1979. We remember an air boat ride and a walk on a board walk to see gators; but don’t remember much else! So we are excited to be getting to finally camp here. We opted to camp at Flamingo Campground at the farthest south west corner of the park. Note this is a long way from the entrance with little in that immediate area so make sure you fill your tanks, have your provisions, and have a full tank of gas as there are little options once in there. The campground barely has any campers there! We opt for no-hook ups as we have plenty of solar and filled/emptied our tanks knowing this. There are some electric sites but none with water or sewer. We are on site T46 with no one around us. The bath house is one site over.
Once we set up we realize the mosquito’s are going to be a problem😳 … A REAL, BIG Problem! So we gather all of our repellent and pic sticks/ coils. For the first evening this worked and we were able to sit outside for a bit. We are here 5 nights! At this point we look at things to do and realize 5 nights is way too long. But we already have all of our reservations so we are locked in. We book a boat tour for the next day.
Welcome to Everglades National Park!
Flamingo Adventures Campground and MOSQUITOES!
11/3:
As we prepare for the boat tour we make sure we have rain gear and plenty of bug spray. Luckily we weren’t bothered by bugs on the boat tour. It was fantastic! We saw some crocks and learned the difference between gators and crocks! Learned some things about the pythons in the park and saw many, many beautiful birds! We both really enjoyed this excursion. Afterward we walked over to the other side of the marina where we watched the manatees for a bit before heading back to the CG (only about 2 miles away). We try to sit out a bit but the bugs got the better of us and we headed in to read.

Waterfowl, Gators, Crocodiles, Mangroves, and Snakes… “Oh My”
11/4:
With the bug situation so bad and the recommendation not to walk around at night because of the snakes??? – we decide to take a ride into Homestead, Florida and check out the visitor center at Biscayne National Park. We are glad we did this even though there isn’t much to do there. We watched two of the films and read the information inside the visitor center and of course Joanne got her NP Passport stamped. Along the entrance road we saw 4-5 Huge Iguana’s :-).
Biscayne Nation Park…
Yikes that’s a Big Boy!
We thought we would stop at the Everglades VC in our way back in to our CG but looking at the time we decide we can do it tomorrow. On our way to Biscayne we had stopped at the other campground (Long Pine Key)to see if by chance we could move from Flamingo over to there for our last two nights. The girl Tammy is quite nice and tells us no problem with transferring from Flamingo over to this campground. We check with some campers here and they say mosquito’s are not as bad here plus this puts us 45 minutes closer (over 40 miles) closer to our next stop down in “The Keys”. So that is our plan; move here tomorrow. As Joanne see’s rain is in the forecast for overnight we get packed up so we don’t have to deal with wet stuff in the morning. And so glad we did as we had thunder, lightening, and rain all night!

At this point we can’t wait to get out of the mosquito infested Flamingo Campground! We pack up, drive the 40 miles to Long Point campground, dump, take on water (no hook-ups here either) and are situated by noon. It poured just as we backed onto our site and glad we didn’t have hook ups so everything we had to do to set up was inside! For the afternoon we are happy to be inside, listen to the rain and think about what there is to do for the next few days. Around 3:00 we drive the 3 miles to the Visitors Center for this end and enjoy the films and talking with the ranger. There are a bunch of short trails that we will do tomorrow and as we leave the sun comes out! We set the chairs out in front of the camper so they are on the pavement and not on the grass so as not to disturb the mosquitos! We enjoy an entire evening until about 10:00 with the fire pit going, looking at the stars and enjoying where we are right now!

EVERGLADES NATIONAL PARK is remote…
11/6: Long Pine Key, Everglades NP
Today we have a leisurely morning then head out to check out a bunch of short trails we had learned about at the visitor’s center yesterday. First up is Royal Palm, an area close by with two trails and some ranger talks. We start on the Anhinga Trail. It is a short trail on pavement / boardwalk. Totally enjoyable and a must do. We see a small gator sunning himself, a big turtle swimming, some White Egrets. It is a quiet and peaceful walk. As we finish the walk there is a ranger talk just starting up at the beginning / end of the trail so we sit and listen to the 20 minute educational talk. She spends some time at the end talking about the Python problem in the park. Interesting indeed! Next up is The Gumbo-Limbo trail. This time it is through a dense, tropical hardwood hammock. Another quiet trail (though not as picturesque). We don’t see a lot of wildlife on this trail. We enjoyed our time at Royal Palm area of the park and as we begin to drive back to the campground we decide to head a little further south in the park and check out a few other short trails we had heard about. Mahogany Hammock Trail is a boardwalk through a hammock of Mahogany trees. We next visit Pa-hay-okee trail. From this short trail you can see the vast openness of the park and just how much water there is. We saw a couple trying to kayak through the sea grass!
We agree that today was a perfect way to end our time in The Everglades National Park; no bugs, a nice breeze, perfect temperatures! Tomorrow we head to the Florida Keys!

We know we are heading into a full hook up campsite so we don’t bother to dump; which saves us time. We get gas right outside the park before we get to Rt 1 for the drive down to The Keys thinking it would be pricier there (and we were right!). The drive takes about three hours and we are there around noon. The campground we have booked is “Big Pine Key Resort” .Since there is hardly anyone here yet the receptionist tells us to find a site we want and let her know which one we took! Awesome; we find one looking right at the water! Happy Day! Plus she is wondering how we got the rate we got? Mike tells her we booked in January and she says that the park got bought out right after that and the prices have doubled! She said everyone around us is paying twice as much as we paid! We get set up then get our laundry going. While the loads are washing / drying we put our suits on and lounge at the pool. We had heard that for the rest of the week the pool and game room would be closed for renovations. And that’s such a shame because the pool is very nice! Elevated to a second level there was a very nice view and the water was heated. Disappointing for sure. Every evening they light up a large fire pit (propane) for campers to gather around so we pour some wine and meet some folks at the fire pit till bedtime.

11/8:
Today we head into Key West. We find some on street (pay) parking and walk all of Duval Street (up & down). We walk through many shops (Joanne finds two dresses to buy) and then we stop at Willie T’s for some nacho’s and margaritas. We listen to some great music and Mike gets some great pictures. Another nice day in The Florida Keys! It is a definite TOURIST MECCA!
And of course the famous Key West Rooster’s didn’t disappoint…
11/9:
Not anything on the plan today except relax and enjoy the view! At some point during the day someone recommends going to Sunset Grill on Marathon; about 15 minute drive from here. Apparently there is a pool anyone can use and great sunsets with OK food. We get a nice walk in mid afternoon down the road adjacent to the campground. We finally get to where a housing development is with nice homes right on the water. It is a quiet walk and was good to get the 4 miles of exercise in.
Walking close to the campground…
We leave for the Sunset Grill around 4 (happy hour 3-6) and not many people there YET! We get a great two seats at the rail overlooking the pool. We will definitely have a great view of the sunset from here. We get a couple margaritas and an appetizer and just enjoy the view. A nice couple sits next to us and we have some good conversation. They flew in for the boat races. An amazing night! We get back to the campground and head over to the campfire!
Sunset Grill – A “10” for viewing natures glory …
Wow!!!
11/10:
Again; not much on our plan for the day. Originally we thought about going in to Key West and check out the boat races (Joanne not so enthusiastic about it) but in the long run we just relax here at the campground. The views are amazing and we sit on our patio overlooking the water and read and just relax. A great day. We cook some salmon for dinner and chat with people at the campfire.
11/11:
Another day of relaxing. In the afternoon we take out the binoculars and can see some of the racing boats from a long distance. In talking with someone from a Pleasure Way he suggests that we try No Name Pub– a dive pub in No Way Key not far from us. As a last minute decision we head there for dinner and get two different fish and chips dinners (to compare) one is grouper and the other cod. Not the best dinner but we reminded ourselves that we went there for the atmosphere- not the food. This is a really old “pub” with quite a history to it. The number of $$ bills stapled to the ceiling / walls is staggering!
No – Name Pub… If you can find it…

We are totally thinking we will get one more night at the group campfire; but alas; it starts raining so looks like we will spend our last night inside reading! Tomorrow we head to Naples and Collier Seminole State Park!

11/12: Collier Seminole State Park
Today we arrive at the Collier Seminole State Park Campground. It seems to be a good location but our site is very muddy. We back onto the gravel so we don’t get the RV stuck in mud when we pull out. The park is crowded but nice.

11/13:
Today we head out to get our Covid 19 booster shot! We tried other times but the pharmacist wouldn’t give it bc we weren’t’ two weeks out from our flu shots! We went to Sam’s Club and thought we might have to wait on line but easy in and out! On the way home we stopped for breakfast at Goldies in the same general area as Sam’s. This breakfast place is a small diner like place in the middle of an industrial center. Good food and service.
Afterward we went to Big Cypress National Preserve to visit the visitors center and look around. We watched the video and walked around the museum. There wasn’t much of an area to walk a round so we drove to an area not far. We decide that maybe on Monday we will drive all the way out to Shark Valley Visitors Center for Everglades (the north side) and can maybe see more of Big Cypress.

They plan to spend winters in the warmer climate 6 months a year and play golf… Gretchen and Joanne have been planning for this since she bought the house in the spring! We head there for lunch then plan on them taking us for a tour of Naples and Marco Island. We didn’t realize their son Sean would be there so that is a nice surprise! It is a great visit as well as a great tour and dinner at Snook Inn on Marco Island.

Today is our last day here and we took a drive all the way down to Shark Valley Visitor Center for Everglades NP. On the way I stopped to mail something at the smallest PO in the US!
Tamiami Trail…
Smallest Post Office in the USA…
Then we stopped at Oasis Visitor Center for Big Cypress NP. There is a boardwalk there to view gators, turtles, fish and water fowl. It was awesome and I highly recommend a stopover there! From there we arrived at Shark Valley but around 2:05- the shuttle out to the observation tower left at 2:00 and the next one didn’t run till 4 so we missed out. We should have put the bikes on the back of the mini so we could have ridden on the paved path that leads to the observation tower but we didn’t (definitely try to do it if possible… next time for us!) We walked about three miles out and back on the path. So glad we did that! There were so many gators in the water adjacent to the path!! One actually had her babies right there with her! It was very fun to see so many. We also really liked seeing all the water birds; the Anhinga’s, the Ibis, the heron and so many others.
Surprise next to the path … Wow!
A great last day! Tomorrow we leave for Bradenton and lots of time with family, a celebration of life for dad and Thanksgiving with family:-)
11/16: Bradenton FL
We arrived at Horseshoe Cove RV Resort a little early but they allowed us to park early. The site we are on is right across the street from where we were in May. The park is much busier than in May and we’re a little apprehensive. Across the street from us is a family with a couple of “rug rats” that are not supervised. At one point they started throwing golf balls at their own truck then throwing it back and forth making us nervous they would peg our Motorhome. Thanksgiving night about 2:30 in the morning the mom and a child were outside running around yelling at each other.
On arrival day Joanne’s is very excited to be seeing family so we head right over to Discovery Village to see mom. Mike takes a Zoom call while Joanne finds a quiet place to sit with mom. We all head over to Deb’s for dinner. It feels so good to be around family.

11/21:
Today is the reason we have all gathered here this week. For the Celebration Of Life service for Dad. Mom has been dreading it for a long time. The Zoom works perfectly and there are 18 people that have joined us. I think that makes mom very happy. Deb has done an incredible job of organizing the program. Karina has ordered the memorial cards and printed the program. The Navy starts off presenting mom with the flag and playing taps. VERY MOVING! Deborah reads a poem, Steve does the eulogy followed by an amazing slide show he put together. After that the pastor reads some memories sent in my Aunt Lorraine, Aunt Roberta, and mom’s friend Rena. Rena is an amazing friend for mom. She sends cards, poems, things she has colored herself and just motivational thoughts. After that Joanne read what she had written; some memories of growing up and the wonderful family life we had.
That pretty much concludes the service. It is almost 90 minutes long. It was beautiful… and perfect.
A perfect “Celebration of Life for Dad with family…
11/22:
Mike and I have been able to get some morning walks in but each afternoon we gather at Deb and Tony’s for Happy Hours and dinner with mom enjoying time with family. We all know it is a lot for her with so much stimulation, but it is still good for her soul to see her children all together. Nick is still here and Jeremy and Tara continue coming over each evening. Of course now we have Thanksgiving to plan for!

11/23:
Mike and I start out the day with breakfast with college friends Jane and Bobby. They have been wintering in Sarasota for many years now and we have been able to connect several times when we are in the area. It is a great visit and they look great.

While parked in Bradenton Mike talks to adjacent lot owner with a Newmar Canyon Star that just had his Durashield 3M style protection. Many RV”s have issues with these plastic shields when they start to fail and get mold underneath them. Our 2017 rig has just started having problems in the white painted areas. Once it starts it only progresses. While in Bradenton Mike does his research and discovers that the best company in the country that does this intense, laborious job is just south in Fort Myers. He calls them and schedules an appointment on Monday after our departure. Although we have to back track, this company is the place to have this done. So we head to Seminole Camground & RV Park for 2 nights to have UglyShield Removal.com get this job done. This was a huge job that required 2 people nearly 9 hours to complete. These guys are the experts if you don’t want to ruin your coaches paint and clear coat!!!! Highly recommend!!!!

11/30: With UglyShieldRemoval.com completing the job and a beautiful new look we needed to decide on a way to protect the coach while driving now. The cost of adding a new Nano Shield 3M product could be over $2,000 UglyShieldRemoval.com highly recommended contacting WADE RV Products in Tampa, Florida on the LazyDays RV property. He said they make custom bras that are really the best option for protection and Value. I was hesitate at first but back to more research while in Ft. Myers and decided it was the best cost effective option. Contacting WADE I made an appointment for the next 3 days for them to complete the project while camping at LAZYDays RV park.
They also have a custom carpet production facility that can make snap down mats for the front of the coach, under our dinette, and entry steps. Since we were there we opted for them as well. Am I breaking the RV maintenance and upgrade budget for 2021 this week???
Also while there I saw an AUTOGlassBoss.com truck driving around not knowing they have a small Florida presence at LAZYDays RV and reached out to them about our fogged windows in the drivers and passengers area. I had planned to have them do this in Arizona or California but since we where here they had time and we completed that project as well! Crazy…
Windows out…
AutoGlass Boss getting it done!
So we spent some money for sure this week. We got some great work done that had to be done at some point. It is our home and we need to take care of it. People often comment how good our rig looks for a 2017 and it’s because of projects like this that happens.
So on Friday 12/3 our time in Florida is coming to an end this year. We have seen more of Florida this year than most Floridians. We have circumnavigated the entire coastline. We have enjoyed the beach, Forts, Cape Canaveral, The Keys, Friends, Family, and a slew of maintenance and add-ons completed. Florida is a beautiful state. The beaches are beautiful, the parks are incredible, the landscape is unique, and we are concerned it is getting too crowded with so much new building and traffic. Lets hope all these changes won’t too adversely effect the often referenced “Real Florida”.
With that, we set off to drive some of the longest days of driving ever. we have decided to Hightail it back to California at Desert Shadows RV Resort in SoCal for a couple of relaxing months and the Holidays. We have been on the road for nearly 250 straight days so we are ready to sit still for a spell, regroup and then start planning for 2022’s continuing “Revolutionary Journey”…
